Road connection through subdivision 'insanity'

Editor:

I could not believe my eyes when I read Sunday's letter by J. Moore III of Greenwood, S.C., "Heritage Hill needs new access."

As a resident of Martinez and a daily traveler of Columbia and Washington roads, I easily recognize the insanity of a residential neighborhood becoming a connector for these two heavily traveled highways. I cant speak for all the residents of Heritage Hill or the connecting neighborhoods, but I find the traffic on Dowling Street to already be excessive due to the interconnection of the neighborhoods.

If anything is to be done, it should be the installation of a traffic light on Columbia Road at the entrance to the Springlakes and Heritage Hill neighborhoods. Its murder trying to get on Columbia Road from Dowling Street.
