Volleyball tryouts

Augusta Junior Olympic Volleyball Club tryouts will be Nov. 11 and 13 at The Family Y on Wheeler Road. in Augusta. Pre-registration is required. Information and registration forms are available at www.eteamz.com/augustajuniors or e-mail augustajuniors@yahoo.com.

Recreation registration

The Columbia County Recreation Department is holding 2004 basketball and winter soccer registration through Nov. 1. Registration is at Patriots Park administrative office only. Hours for registration are Monday through Friday until Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Oct. 27-31 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration forms are available on the web site www.co.columbia.ga.us.com. Baseball showcase

Today is the deadline for registration for the 2003 Southern Prospect Baseball Showcase. The showcase will be Oct. 25 and 26 at Patriots Park. On Saturday the showcase is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Sunday times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The showcase is for players ages 13-15, and the cost to participate is $165 per player. Activities include a pro workout session, a clinic, showcase games and scouting for the USA National team.

Youth soccer camp

TST Soccer youth soccer camp continues at Patriots Park Monday through Wednesday . Camp options and fees are: half day, $25, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; full day, $40, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camps are for children ages 5-14.
