Rev. Lou Scales of Church of Our Savior in Martinez consecrated a newly refurbished Chapel in the Woods on Sept. 14. The chapel consists of wooden benches and a metal cross, and was planned and refurbished as an Eagle Scout project by Robert Beck, 17, a member of the church's Troop 16. The project included a major cleanup around the chapel and the addition of a pulpit, more seating and a retable and an altar for services. The project was completed in June by members of the congregation and Troop 16. Participants included Sandra Robinet (from left), Ernest Robinet, Marsha Beck, Bobby Beck, Robert Beck, the Rev. Linda Scales and the Rev. Lou Scales.
