Punt, Pass & Kick

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Blanchard Park. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 8-15. The event allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and kicking, with scores based on distance and accuracy. Age classifications are based on age as of Dec. 31, 2003. For more information, call 863-7523. Entry forms will need to be completed on the day of the competition.

Tennis registration

USA Team Tennis will have registration for the Fall 2003 Junior Tennis League on Saturday. The registration is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Petersburg Racquet Club. The season runs Oct. 5 to Nov. 16. All matches will be played on Sundays at 2 p.m. Age groups include 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under, and 14-and-over.

Players and captains can register; people not already on a team may register as individuals and will be placed on one. The League fee of $12 covers court fees and player T-shirt. USTA membership costs $13. Those without USTA membership can register online at www.usta.com and receive immediate confirmation and a membership number, or by calling the USTA at (800) 990-8782.

Softball players needed

The 14-and-under Augusta Flash girls fastpitch travel team recently completed a great season, but because of age requirements, the squad is seeking replacement players for the 2004 season. Interested players must meet the following requirements: good attitude, dedication, a desire to have fun and some experience would be helpful.
