Animal Control earns praise for finding lost pet

This is a rave for Columbia County Animal Control. We were in a rush to get to school one Friday morning and our dog, Ice, had gotten out of the house. We didnt have time to catch her, and thought she would come back on her own. Instead, Ice followed someone home. Fortunately, the person had called Animal Control to ask if anyone had lost a dog, and gave their name and phone number.

We went to the shelter the following Monday just as they were about to close. The people there let us in, looked to see if they had Ice and then asked some questions about her. We gave a description of Ice, and it matched the information from the caller on Friday. Even though it was closing time, the people at the shelter looked up the information and called the person as we were standing there.

We discovered Ice had been taken to Superpetz on Saturday for adoption! Ice was adopted almost immediately!

Thinking we would never get her back, we hoped Ice was in a good home. But Columbia County Animal Control continued to go out of their way as they phoned us on Wednesday and gave us a name and phone number. They had tracked down where Ice was taken!

We had to travel more than 50 miles to get her back, but it was well worth it. If it hadnt been for Animal Control we never would have found her.

Thank you so much, Columbia County Animal Control!
