Harlem event, memories greatly appreciated

On Aug. 23, former Harlem High School basketball players, supporters and friends honored me with a banquet at the Harlem High School gym. A great number of them from both the girls and boys teams spent many hours, days and even weeks planning and preparing for this very successful event.

Words cannot express how I appreciate the great work each of them did. To be remembered in such a special way was the greatest reward I have ever known. Having the privilege of knowing each of them as a friend as well as a player and knowing each of them as family has been a great honor.

I will always cherish their friendship. I remember my days at Harlem High School as the happiest days of my life.
