Congress works for the people, not the president

Editor:

Taxes are as old as our Bible (Luke 2:30). As our Constitutions 16th Amend-ment says, Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on income from whatever source desired without apportionment among the several sates, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

We cannot run a home or a government without revenue. Jesus paid taxes (Matthew 17:27; 22:21). Therefore, the greed should be taken out of politics. Our sponsors should give all of our politicians equal time so we the people could make right choices. God is not for sales (Acts 8:18-20). And we all need each other. When we stop voting for the ones who raise the most money, we send them a message loud and clear that our votes are not for sale, either.

There is nothing wrong with being rich if we know that the love of money is the root of all evil. We must do it Gods way: take back our country, pay our fair share of taxes, get our government out of the red. To whom much is given much is required. The 16th Amendment does not give one man control over the taxes. So stop blaming the president; only Congress has the right to what taxes should be paid. They must not say how high? when the president says jump. He cannot fire them, but the people (voters) can. And we should not take it any more.

It is time we the people let them have one term to get it right, or we can vote them out. They are confused; they do not work for the president and his cabinet - they work for us.
