I completely agree with Dan Halls letter in the Aug. 20 News-Times,(Printing photo of wrecked vehicle was "sadistic).
The News-Times choice to print the picture of the vehicle involved in the April 15 accident was indeed in poor taste. As Hall stated in his letter, there has indeed been a healing process going on over the past four months - healing not only by members of the immediate families, but also the entire community.
There were four other members of the Greenbrier golf team who arrived at the scene of the accident within minutes. I happen to be the mother of one of those golfers, and witnessed firsthand just how devastated all of these young people were. Each of them is healing in there own way. This healing is something that will be ongoing for years to come. You would be amazed at the time and energy they put into their own special tributes to these friends.

They are faced with the constant reminder every day of not having their friends with them at school day in and day out. They certainly did not need to be reminded by your distasteful photo. I am so proud of the maturity that these young men and women have shown in dealing with such a grownup issue. Each and every person has dealt with their loss in their own way, and all of them will be better people for having had Daniel Hall and Shane Williams in their lives. We miss you guys! You will forever be in our hearts.
Hall is correct. A public apology needs to be issued. Next time a little common sense and a lot of respect for all involved would go a long way. We still have much work to do as far as the transportation issue is concerned. We all need to remain focused on the issue at hand by never allowing a tragedy like this to happen again.
