Printing photo of wrecked vehicle was 'sadistic'

How could you be of so little conscience, or compassion, that you would print the picture of the wrecked vehicle that killed my son, Daniel Hall III and Shane Williams in the Aug. 17 News-Times? How can you not understand that such a decision would terribly hurt the parents of all victims, as well as tear apart the small amount of healing we have experienced in the past four months?

This has to be one of the most insensitive, non-caring, deliberate acts of sadistic journalism I have ever witnessed. Thank you for destroying our progress in trying to get on with what is left of our lives without our first-born son, Daniel.

You have no idea how much pain this caused my family, especially my wife, Daniels mother. Are you a mother? Try to imagine the pain of losing a child. The decision to print the picture of the wrecked vehicle just proves that shock value is the No. 1 priority for all news reporting conducted by your newspaper.

Thank you. You succeeded in shocking my wife to the point of mental exhaustion on Sunday. Are you happy, now?

Additionally, for the second time in a week the facts have not even been checked before writing this story. The driver was Shane Williams, who was also killed in the accident. It was not one of the survivors who was hospitalized. ...

My family, along with the other victims families, demand an apology for this travesty.
