The Greenbrier High School volleyball team will hold tryouts the week of July 28 at the Greenbrier Middle School gymnasium. The tryouts will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The Aiken-Augusta Swim League, a year-round, nonprofit swim team, will hold a tryout session for the 2003-04 season. Swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke. The tryouts are July 29 at Augusta State University. Belair Conference Center is the site for a P.W.A. Cheer Clinic this Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $50, which includes a T-shirt, lunch and certificate. Registration is available up to the day of the clinic, which is for children ages 4-14. All campers will learn cheers, chants, dances, jump technique and a lot of spirit. The Columbia County Recreation Department will have an adult softball organizational meeting July 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the administrative office at Patriots Park. People interested in entering a team are advised to have a representative at the meeting to secure a place for their teams.
