Though he's perhaps better known for his love of jellybeans, President Reagan enjoyed his share of ice cream.
In 1984, he declared July as National Ice Cream Month, and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
More than 90 percent of the nation's population agrees with his love of the chilly delight, especially children.
Most of them have no idea how ice cream is made or where it comes from. All they know is they love to eat it.

As David Brannon, 4, of Martinez, enjoyed his Dirt Sundae last week at Bruster's Old Fashioned Ice Cream and Yogurt in Evans, he was asked if he had any idea how it was made.
"No, but mine has worms in it," he responded with an ice cream-covered grin.
Cris Sutherland, Bruster's manager, shows young people how ice cream is made by offering tours of the ice cream shop on Belair Road to small groups such as church, camp or school organizations, she said.
"It is more fun for the little ones," Sutherland said.
People who would like a behind-the-scenes tour and call Sutherland at 210-5160.
