Out for blood

The drive brought in 124 donors and drew praise from Nancy Szocinski, Shepeard Blood Center's director of community resources.
"We are very pleased and grateful for your efforts on our behalf," she said during Tuesday night's Columbia County Board of Commissioners meeting.
She said 9 percent of Columbia County residents donate blood - double the national average.

"It means we all have a long way to go, but we in Columbia County are on the right side of the curve," she said.
