The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Paintball vandalism

A Columbia County school recently was vandalized with paintballs.

Columbia County Sheriff's Office Deputy Matthew Baxley discovered paintballs on the backs of three Blue Ridge Elementary School portable classroom buildings during a routine security check of the school grounds at 550 Blue Ridge Drive, Evans, on Thursday night, according to a sheriff's office incident report.

Baxley wrote that knew the vandalism had occurred recently because the paint from the shooting was still wet, he stated in the incident report.

Stolen meds

A waitress at a local restaurant reported four bottles of prescription drugs stolen from a break room while she was on duty.

Lisa Ann Clark, 37, of Lincolnton, hid her purse in the employee break room because she did not have a padlock for her locker, said a Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. When she went to retrieve her medications Thursday nearly three hours after hiding it, Clark found that four bottles of prescription drugs were missing.

Bottles of Xanax, Risperdal, Neurotin and Valium were gone, the report stated. The Xanax had three refills left, so the responding deputy advised Clark to contact her pharmacist so the thief could not obtain the refills.

Keyless entry

The pad lock on a front door was still intact, but an Augusta man's tools were gone Thursday.

Gene Ray Livingston, of Augusta, told Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies that someone had broken into his residence on Hybrid Lane, Appling, and taken a jigsaw, hand saw, two hammers and an extension cord, in total worth nearly $100, according to an incident report.

The residence was locked from the outside with a padlock on the front door, which was still locked when he returned Thursday morning.

Martinez Fire Department activity report for June 22-28: Structure fire, one; vehicle fires, two; grass fire, one; controlled burns, four; fire alarms, seven; medical calls, 25; rescue calls, 10; other, one.
