Evans High auction

There will be a silent auction Saturday at the Evans High School commons area to benefit the Evans High baseball and softball teams. The auction, which runs from 2 to 4 p.m., will help the school pay for the lights which were recently installed at the baseball and softball diamonds. Patriots tryouts

The Columbia County Patriots Select Soccer tryouts continue this week for boys and girls ages 8 to 12. Tryouts for U10, U11 and U12 teams are Thursday for boys, and Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday for girls. Tryouts for boys and girls in U13 through U17 age brackets are June 9, 10, 12 and 17; tryouts for boys and girls U19 are June 9, 10, 11 and 17. All tryouts are at Patriots Park. Tryouts begin at 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. on Saturday. Tryouts are free. All competitive players in the CSRA are welcome, and each player will be considered for a team, even if previous sessions were missed.
