Euchee Creek PTA takes state honor

Euchee Creek Elementary School's Parent Teacher Association was selected the 2003 Georgia PTA Outstanding Elementary PTA Unit for District 8, which covers 12 counties.

The announcement was made at the 2003 Georgia PTA Convention, May 2-5, in College Park, Ga. and the award was presented at the Richmond County Council of PTAs 2003 PTA Volunteer and Awards Dinner on Monday, May 12, at Pullman Hall. The Euchee Creek PTA also won Georgia PTA awards, including first place for Arts in Education, and third place for Programs and Membership. The PTA has experienced an 19 percent increase in membership this year.

Euchee Creek PTA President Lori Scheerer and her team carried out and documented innovative programs and projects that benefited children in their school and beyond. Their efforts were improved by attendance at PTA training, use of multiple resources and networking with PTA and community sources.

Also, for their quality unit operation and commitment to PTA Mission and Priorities Euchee Creek PTA was awarded the STAR PTA award from the Richmond County Council of PTAs.
