Editor:
Its nearly too much to stomach - how our U.S. government is supposedly trying to establish a democracy in Iraq, yet here in America we Georgians are still being denied a vote (or honest representation) regarding our true Georgia state flag.
Tell me, how is it that radical, fanatical and anti-Christian Shiite Muslims (Iraqs majority) can be deemed worthy of self-government, yet professing Christians (Georgias majority) are seeing their government hijacked by an oligarchy of bought-off politicians and corporate kingpins? Oh, the stench of this political manure!
While President George W. Bush is wrongly using his victory against Saddam Hussein to once again call for a Jew-hating Palestinian (Muslim) state in Israel, Gov. Sonny Perdue is using his victory over Roy Barnes to impose yet another illegitimate flag on us Georgians. This time the flag is void of even a tiny St. Andrews Cross. Does the political manipulation end?

Listen: If we Georgians even think about calling it quits on this flag fight we may as well consider not ever voting again - for anyone or anything.
Our elected officials are sending us the strong and unprecedented message that they do not have to represent our desires for this state. What we have just experienced is the ultimate in taxation without representation - and that made evident by extreme conflict of interest on the governors part. He should have vetoed this flag bill!
If were not quite ready to surrender our right to vote, and if we still want our elected officials to be held accountable to those who elect them to office, then for us this flag battle should not be over.
We have a message to send to the capital: Hey, Governor, until the flag that we were robbed of is on either the Capitol or the ballot, any other flag will be illegitimate, no matter what you say.
