Discovery of baseball games 'a beautiful sight' in Grovetown

A couple of weeks ago, sometime after that nasty week of cold and windy weather, I was headed back toward Grovetown on a sunny and warm late afternoon. As I started down the hill near the baseball fields, I first noticed that the lights were on and then saw one of the most beautiful sights a person could see on a spring day in America: Three of the four ball fields were fully occupied with games, with each of the bleacher sections occupied with fans.

I drove on to find the first place I could to turn around and headed back and parked in the adjacent parking lot. I walked over to get a seat in whatever section I could find first. It was a real toss-up as to which game to watch, so I spent most of my time just walking between all three. Unfortunately, I didnt have time to see the end of any of the games, and I never did find out who the teams were (they were all Little League-age players), and I didnt meet any of the folks out there. This time. But I did think to myself, of all the many places Ive been in this world, nowhere anywhere but in America could a person be treated to such a beautiful sight.

Congratulations Grovetown, for finally getting a great idea up and running. The next time I stop, Ill make sure I have plenty of time to enjoy all the innings.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
