The Mitchell family wants to get Grovetown in shape.
Layne Mitchell is preparing for the grand opening of his WorldClass Fitness Center at 625 East Robinson Ave. in Grovetown.
For Mitchell, fitness and business are family affairs.
Mitchell's wife, Lorrie, is the fitness center's aerobics instructor, and his brother, Kirk, is the karate instructor.

The center will feature aerobics, karate, yoga, Herbalife nutritional supplements and a circuit training system called Pace.
"What Pace is, is a hydraulic workout machine," said Mitchell. "Each one targets a different muscle group. You'll work on your legs, then your arms, then your abs and so on. It's a total of 18 stations you rotate through.
"It's pretty awesome, because it's a group environment. It allows you to motivate each other like an aerobics class. This group of people will move through the system helping each other. It's got this little cue to move, around 30 seconds per station, and what it does is it allows for your body not to fatigue."
The grand opening for the fitness center is Saturday. Mitchell says they will be offering door prizes throughout the day, free classes, free workouts and more.
The WorldClass Karate Team from the center's sister studio in Atlanta will give demonstrations at the grand opening. There also will be a Boy Scout fund-raiser.
Although the center has yet to open, Mitchell said he already has plans for expanding the gym to include treadmills, stationary bikes and more.
A longtime resident of Grovetown, he said he is confident in the center's ability to succeed and grow at the Robinson Avenue location.
"There's a lot of local interest," said Mitchell. "We're right here in the heart of the subdivisions in Grovetown. We have a lot of community support.
"We really believe in Grovetown. We think it's a wonderful little town that didn't have anything out here like this."
