Thomson High School freshman Chris Watkins competed for the first time at the Technology Student Association State Conference last week and placed first in the computer-aided drafting competition.
He will now represent Georgia at the national conference in Orlando, Fla., in June. He will compete against representatives from the other 47 continental states as well as teams from Scotland and Germany. He also will enter the architectural modeling competition. His technology teacher is Greg Shouse.
