Homecoming services

Dunn's Chapel's 53rd homecoming is scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Robert Taylor will preach.

Revival will start Monday and continue through Wednesday nightly at 7 p.m. with sermons by the Rev. John Kennedy.

Windermere crafts

The Residents' Council and the Crafty Ladies of Windermere Nursing Home are hosting their annual Spring Craft Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the home at 3618 J. Dewey Gray Circle across from Doctors Hospital.

The bazaar, which benefits beautification of the Memory Gardens and craft supplies, will include wreaths, baskets, birdhouses, pillows and flower pots.

Dessert and music

The Lakeside High School Chorus will present its Spring Dessert Theater on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Each choral group and the Chow Choir will perform, followed by a dessert reception.

Tickets cost $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Children 3 and under get in free. For tickets or more information, call 863-0027 ext. 224.

Grovetown chicken-que

Grovetown United Methodist Church is holding its semiannual Chicken-Que on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A plate consists of a half chicken, green beans, coleslaw, bread and tea for $6. Advance tickets can be obtained by calling 863-6355.

The same day, the church's Yard Sale and Bake Sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Greenbrier election and play

Teachers are parents of Greenbrier Elementary School will meet Monday to elect two parents to the new School Council. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at the school.

After the election, pupils will present Cinderella's Ball - a play by kindergartner teachers at the school.

Stage III play

Stage III, Columbia County's community theater, will present Murder at Rutherford House on Thursday-Saturday, May 1-4, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m.

Evening tickets for the audience-participation, murder mystery includes dinner and costs $25 each. Matinee tickets cost $15.

Asthma walk

The American Lung Association of Georgia East Central Region is playing host to its first annual Blow the Whistle on Asthma walk from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3, at Savannah Rapids Pavilion.

Riverside election

The School Council of Riverside Middle School will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, in the school gymnasium to elect parent representatives. Any parent interested in running for an office can contact Donald Putnam, principal, at 868-3712 no later than Friday, May 2.
