Serving on Harlem City Council was 'an honor'

Editor:

It is with profound regret, yet with great expectations and hope for the future, that I have tendered my resignation from the Harlem City Council.

My career and my family are calling me to move to Knoxville, Tenn., and I will be doing so soon. I wish to thank all of the elected officials in Columbia County, especially the members of the Harlem City Council, for the opportunity I have had to work with them. I especially want to thank the citizens of the city of Harlem for the opportunity they gave me to serve them. I have never received a greater honor than your trust.

I also want to thank the staff and employees of Harlem for helping me to do my job. These are the people who really make your city run. I wish to encourage you all to continue the great work that has begun in Harlem. Be involved in your community and see the great things that are happening there.

//

I look forward to visiting in the future and admiring the progress that will spring forth.
