While Weir was chasing down his Green Jacket Sunday, Justin Walker was too busy to be thinking about golf. Walker, a freshman from Evans was busy helping Augusta State knock off Anderson College 10-1 in baseball action. He pitched into the eighth inning, yielding on four hits and giving up zero runs. He also struck out six tp pick up his team leading the sixth win of the year. Fellow Columbia Countian Matt May helped out offensively by going 2-3 including a two-run homerun.
Matt, a senior, and Walker, a freshman, have been two of Skip Fite's top performers all year, and they have helped guide ASU to a 23-18 mark.
Also Sunday, The Augusta Chronicle released its 2002-2003 All-Area Basketball Teams and the county was well represented. The honorees included:
