Fire department fund-raiser
The Winfield Volunteer Fire Department will hold a barbecue and yard sale on Saturday at the main fire station on Cobbham Road. The yard sale begins at 7 a.m. and the barbecue goes on sale at 10 a.m. Barbecue plates are $6 each.
The department is seeking vendors to rent yard sale tables for $5. All proceeds from sales of items goes to the owner, not the department. To reserve a table, call Patrick Bargeron at 541-0446.
Earth Day festivities will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park.

Confederate Memorial event
The Brig. Gen. E. Porter Alexander Camp 158, Sons of Confederate Veterans, is sponsoring its annual Southern Heritage March and Confederate Memorial Service Saturday beginning at noon at the base of the Confederate monument on Broad Street in Augusta. Family Y Easter
The Family Y is hosting an Easter Egg-stravaganza Family Night from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Camp Lakeside on Lake Thurmond. Scheduled activities include a hayride, Easter egg hunt, hotdog dinner and marshmallow roast.
