Gardening at Lunch
The Columbia County Extension Service will hold the April Gardening at Lunch seminar from 12:10 to 12:45 p.m. today in the Government Complex auditorium on Ronald Reagan Drive, Evans. The topic will be Growing Trophy Tomatoes and will be presented by Charles Phillips, county extension agent.
The seminar is free and open to the public.
Fishing tournament

The Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites will hold the 12th annual Parent-Child Fishing Tournament on Saturday on the banks of Mistletoe State Park, Appling. Registration is from 7 to 10 a.m. and weigh-in is at 3 p.m.
A $5 entry fee per family is required. All fish count in weighing. All prizes, trophies and awards will be provided.
Elvis in Harlem
A Night with Elvis is scheduled for Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harlem High School.
Refreshments will be available. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. All proceeds go to the Harlem Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. For more information, call Leona Holley or Cheryl Lowe at 556-6979.
Layton blood drive
The Lakeside High School chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders of America will sponsor a public blood drive, along with Shepheard Community Blood Center on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 124 of Lakeside High School.
The blood drive is in memory of student Brandon Layton.

Meeting place needed
The Columbia County Republican Party is looking for a Columbia County restaurant that can accommodate up to 100 on a monthly basis for its breakfast meetings, which are held the fourth Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. Interested persons should contact party chairman Lee Muns at 827-1572.
Dance classes
The Columbia County Senior Center at Euchee Creek will conduct swing dance classes during April. Class will be every Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. Cost is $4 per person. The class will be at the Columbia County Senior Center at Euchee Creek. For more information, call Paul at 650-2396.

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its bimonthly networking event - Not Just Coffee - from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Evans Government Center Auditorium.
The topic is Fort Gordon Update with speaker Col. Thom Tuckey.

Easter egg hunt
The Columbia County Recreation Department is hosting an Easter egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, on the Patriots Park soccer fields. The hunt is for children ages 3 to 10 with age groups hunting more than 8,000 eggs on different fields.
Games, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny will be available. The event will be free.
