Cleaning boats helped raised money to help a special group of children water ski Saturday and Sunday.
Volunteers washed and detailed boats to benefit the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center's Wee Can Ski program was held at the West Marine Store on Bobby Jones Expressway.
The Wee Can Ski program offers children with physical or mental problems the opportunity to water ski on a specially designed ski May 31 at the Fort Gordon Recreation Area at Thurmond Lake.
"It gives these special children a chance to do something that normal children get to do," said Jack Bradford, a project planner for MCG and a volunteer with the Wee Can Ski program.

West Marine played host to the event for a second year and is raffling off a boat grill through April 30 to continue raising money for the program.
"I've been involved with the Children's Miracle Network for many years and I think this is a wonderful program," said West Marine Store Manager Melissa Brown.
"All of the employees here want to be involved in it because it raises money for our local hospital," she said.
