Tuesday: baseball -- Greenbrier at Washington County, 5:30 p.m.

Friday: baseball -- Washington County at Evans, 6 p.m.; track -- Greenbrier and Lakeside at Taco Bell Invitational (Aiken), TBA.

Volleyball champs

The Augusta Junior Volleyball Club earned a victory at the Palmetto Region Championship, which was last weekend at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah.

The Augusta Juniors 18-and-under club team took first place in the Gold Division. The team members, and their respective high schools, are: Clare Hayes (Richmond Academy); Shannon Stewart (Aquinas); Stephanie Minor and Deanna Reid (Augusta Prep); Christi King (Evans); Sunni Bennett (Greenbrier); Marci Crown (Home School); Ashley Cupp, Camisha McCain and Allison Viverito (North Augusta).

The team is led by head coach Ron Cupp and assistant coach Chris Emerling.
