Dogs' killers should suffer guilt

Not only did the war in Iraq begin on March 18, someone found it necessary to shoot and kill three of my dogs on that wet, cold night. Now, some of you will say, Why were they out of the yard? But those of you who live in the country know the answer to that question.

When we let the dogs out of their pen to feed them, the three that ran off got scent of a deer. My husband and I searched and called for them until late into the night. They were still not home the next morning, so after I took my daughter to school I drove down White Oak Road. I found all three of them between the building with the 50 gallon drums and a run-down trailer. In the pouring down rain I lifted Chase, a 4-year-old lab mix, Lacy, a 6-month-old chocolate lab, and my Sophie, a 10-year-old black lab into my car.

You know who you are and what you did was wrong and just plain mean. I hope one day you will hurt as you have made me and my family hurt, or live with guilt for the rest of your life.
