Elected officials not paying attention

I wonder if anyone has noticed the foreign buy-out of a huge chunk of our drinking water works? According to the Feb. 12 Charleston Gazette, three European water companies have expanded into every region of the world. A German industrial giant paid $8.6 billion for 800 water systems serving 15 million people in 27 states and three Canadian provinces.

Can anyone see the folly of this global economic insanity? We are not going to be in control of our nation's destiny much longer as the Europeans seek more such infrastructure deals.

Is everything for sale in America? Does our very well-paid and educated Congress know what national security and sovereignty mean? What happened to citizens' rights to self-determination regarding such an important part of our economy and vital infrastructure?

All I hear the Democrats complain about is SUVs, gun registration, civil rights for gays and women, and the war, understandably.

The Republicans, mostly, are pushing war and more wars and nation building and, of course, tax cuts for the wealthy.

Americans better start voting all useless incumbents out at election time...
