Sister's 2001 death was another county tragedy

Posted: Sunday, March 30, 2003

I was reading the editorial on Brandon Layton in the Sunday, March 9 News-Times (http://www.newstimesonline.com/stories/030903/opi_opinion_030603_828_1.shtml). Layton was one of the latest promising young people to die in a tragic accident.

You mentioned Morgan Beverly, Holly Spivey and Andrew Hawkinberry. You just forgot to mention my sister, Alison Jones. My sister had just graduated from Greenbrier High School when she was killed by a driver who under the influence of alcoholic beverages and drugs. This driver already had two DUIs on his record. He is scheduled to go to court Monday.

Alison was killed in 2001. Her accident was at the intersection of Washington Road and Stevens Creek Road. I just wanted to bring this to your attention.
