The time has come when the United States should get out of the League of Nations - oops, sorry - the un-United Nations.
//
The United States has only one vote but carries the burden of funding one third of all the United Nations' extravagant expenses. The United States will also fare much better without the constant disrespect and bickering among some of the most influential members in the U.N. Security Council.
The United Nations has proved time and time again that it is unable to carry out the mandates entrusted to it by their charter.
The war with Iraq should have and could have been averted if only the U.N. Security Council had stood firmly by their unanimously passed U.N. Resolution 1441 that clearly stated Iraq must totally and immediately disarm and destroy all of its weapons of mass destruction.
This resolution was only one of 17 passed during the past 12 years with absolutely no enforcement or results.
Little wonder when one considers that the United Nations is comprised of 159 world nations, but 61 of them flagrantly violate all 30 articles of the U.N.'s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In fact, Libya, one of the 61, actually heads the U.N. Commission on Human Rights - a travesty if there ever was one.
Polls show that over 70 percent of Americans stand firmly behind our commander in chief and our Armed Forces. May U.S. military engagements be swift and successful.
