What is going on in the hearts and minds of the American people? As I watch the news and reports coming out of Iraq, it saddens me to see the plight of the Iraqi people. We see Iraqi soldiers (although this is just a pretense, because they are just ordinary Iraqi citizens) who are ill-equipped in both weapons and military skills, being forced to defend a regime that has ruled with tyranny and oppression for 25 years.

My heart is heavy for the wanton destruction of lives, the lack of compassion for people that have never known the freedom and prosperity that we Americans have.
I see the anti-war demonstrations that are now being staged in many of America's cities and towns, and the burning of our flag that we proudly display on our homes, businesses and cars to show the rest of the world that America is united against terror and oppression.
Have we so soon forgotten the lives that were quickly snuffed out on that dreadful and fearful morning? On that day, Sept. 11, not only Americans, but all people and nations were united in ridding the world of all those who would deny the right to another human being to live in peace without fear, without oppression.
This is truly sad. It grieves my heart to see that we, as Americans, cannot come together with a united spirit to stand behind and support our president and to stand with our many men and women, who are even now boldly paving the way for freedom - not only for the Iraqi people, but freedom for our future sons, daughters and grandchildren.
It is my prayer that America will come to its senses and stand once again as a nation under God with a united heart and a common cause. To do otherwise is unpatriotic and an act of betrayal against America and her people ...
