Health fair

The McDuffie County Health Fair will be March 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thomson High School.

The fair will offer free tests and screenings for body-fat ratio, blood pressure, blood typing, diabetes, bone density and more. Also, there are optional tests that will be available including those that test blood chemistry, hemoglobin, thyroid, and prostate cancer. All are available for a small fee.

Movie-A-Thon

Ollie's Army, the city of Harlem's Relay for Life team, is holding a Movie-A-Thon for children at 1 and 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at The Laurel and Hardy Museum of Harlem. The movies will be PG- or G-rated.

Tickets cost $1 and include the movie, popcorn and a drink. For more information, call Kathy Sparks at 556-3448.

Annual antique show

The Augusta Women's Club is holding its 50th annual Antique Show and Sale this weekend at Patriots Park, 5445 Columbia Road. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission costs $4 or $3.50 with the ad from The Augusta Chronicle.

Choral society presents Broadway Delights

The Columbia County Choral Society will present Broadway Delights at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 North Belair Road, Evans. A reception will follow the concert.

Admission costs $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 364-5920.

Summer 4-H camp

Registration for the 4-H summer camp at Camp Wahsega 4-H Center begins at 8 a.m. Friday at the 4-H office at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. The camp, scheduled for July 7-11, is for fifth- and sixth-grade 4-Hers.

The camp costs $186. Parents should bring a completed application and a $62 deposit.

Free CPR class

The Augusta Red Cross will offer a free CPR class in Columbia County on Saturday at Abilene Baptist Church Christian Life Center on Washington Road. The class will begin at 9 a.m. There will be a maximum of 125 participants in the class.

Thomson chamber breakfast

The Thomson-McDuffie County Chamber of Commerce and McDuffie Partners for Success will hold a chamber breakfast honoring Kaylee Dean, March of Dimes 2003 ambassador, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Thomson Depot. Guest speakers will be Pete Michenfelder, Linda Griffith and Pam Dean.

Tickets cost $5 at the chamber and all proceeds benefit the March of Dimes.

I Can Cope

The American Cancer Society's I Can Copesessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. April 1, 15, 22 and 29 at Warren Baptist Church on Washington Road.
