Augusta Symphony delivers fine performance

ently the Augusta Symphony, together with the Augusta Choral Society, presented two performances of Verdi's Requiem. They, together with their sponsors, gave the Central Savannah River Area a musical experience of the first magnitude.
It was hard to believe that a city the size of Augusta could present such a professional performance. One could easily have imagined himself in New York or some other large city. These tired old eyes filled with tears several times during the performance.
I understand that their season will open in the fall with Brahms German Requiem. I will certainly be looking forward to that performance.
