Talent show
Area high school students will compete in dance, instrumental, voice and spoken word/rap in the CSRA Talent Explosion at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Imperial Theatre. They are competing for an all expense paid trip to New York City. Two grand-prize winners will be featured on Showtime at the Apollo.
Celebrity judges include New York Jets' Josh Evans. Tickets are on sale at the Imperial Theatre and can be purchased by calling the theater at 722-8341 or by logging onto www.imperialtheatre.com.
Lynx night

The Columbia County Kiwanis Club is sponsoring 50 Columbia County Department of Family and Children Services foster parents and children to attend an Augusta Lynx game at 7 p.m. Tuesday A chartered bus will leave from the Lynx Ice Forum en route to the civic center for the game.

Greenbrier musical
Greenbrier High School students will present Bye, Bye Birdie at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Democrats meet
The Columbia County Democratic Party will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. April 14, at the Columbia County Government Center auditorium on Ronald Reagan Drive, Evans. County school superintendent Tommy Price will be the guest speaker. The meeting's topic is a new task force for the board of education.

Cinderella
The fifth-graders of Brookwood Elementary School will present dinner followed by the musical Cinderella beginning at 6:15 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and daytime shows at 9 and 9:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Fifth-graders not on stage will be waiting tables and serving food during the performances at the school at 455 South Old Belair Road, Grovetown. Tickets are reserved seating only and can be obtained at the school.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta's 2003 Steak and Burger Dinner is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Augusta State University Athletic Complex.
The keynote speaker will beEddie Lee Ivery, former Thomson High School and Georgia Tech star running back and the Green Bay Packers' No. 1 draft pick for 1979.
Sponsorship levels for the 16th Annual Steak and Burger Dinner range from $1,000 to $10,000, and tickets cost $100.
