Rowland will keep office from backsliding

Two recent events have helped me decide for whom I will vote in the Aiken County sheriff's race. The first was Mike Hunt's admission in a recent newspaper story that he and his campaign are working with the Irish Travelers.

The second was a report from a friend who voted absentee and said that the Travelers were voting heavily absentee. Any man who would get into bed with the Travelers in order to win an election is a man I don't want representing me.

The recent mudslinging we have seen - all coming from the Hunt campaign - while thoroughly distasteful and ugly, can perhaps be written off as politics. But, Mr. Hunt's decision to align himself with the Travelers speaks directly to his complete lack of character and judgment.

I will proudly cast my vote for Jody Rowland, and I urge all citizens who don't want to see the sheriff's office go back to the bad old days to join me.
