Anti-France 'diatribe' from editor earns rebuke

Editor:

Publication of Jason Smiths diatribe profiling the Gutless French (column, The gutless and the honorable, March 5, http://newstimesonline.com/stories/ 030503/new_153-7269.shtml), enabled by his limited study, and his admitted inability to comprehend his acquired knowledge, is a prime example of someone being educated beyond their intelligence.

To judge an entire nation and people by its politicians is akin to judging a newspaper by the insensitive, callous, and cruel remarks of its purported news editor.

Quel dommage.

Hopefully Smith will continue to enhance his career, thrive and perhaps even flourish as a journalist, by maintaining his professed close personal connection, condescending admiration, and printed praise of others who were indeed successful. (It most certainly wont be because of any obvious impartial or considerate news-reporting talent or ability.) But just perhaps some savoir-faire and polish of people around him can help to diminish his demonstrated appearance as un vrai cou-rouge.

Sometimes we ask ourselves why some foreigners dont appreciate Americans. Mr Smith, what have you done for your country today?

Bonne Chance, mon ami.
