Family Y Hockey

Registration for the Family Y's new youth in-line hockey league and hockey school programs is held through March 29 at the Marshall Branch, 4534 Washington Road in Evans. West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road, is the location of the programs.
In-line hockey league is open to boys and girls ages 7-12. League games are played 10 a.m. to noon. T-shirts are provided. Fees per child are $44 for Family Y members, $49 for bronze members and $56 for non-members.

Revival
Marshall Baptist Church Spring Revival will be held March 23-26 at the church at 436 Marshall Baptist Church Road in Thomson.

Clean-up day
Columbia County's Great American Clean-Up will be held on March 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents, civic groups and businesses will be participating.

Garden festival
Sacred Heart Cultural Center will hold its 11th annual Sacred Heart Garden Festival Thursday, Mar. 20, through Sunday, Mar. 23, at the center downtown.

Singles group
Marvin United Methodist Church has formed a new group called Prisms for singles or "single again" people in the Augusta area. The group is not a dating service, but hopefully it will expand into a large group to give those people who need it, a place to get together with others in the same boat in a casual Christian atmosphere. there will be some fun outings and casual meetings at the church on the corner of Belair and Wheeler.

Trash to Treasure vendors wanted
The city of Harlem will hold its second annual Trash to Treasures Market from 8 a.m. to noon April 5 in the vacant lot next to Harlem United Methodist Church on Georgia Highway 78. Registration is currently being held for vendors. There is no set-up charge to sell.

Y offers Easter events
The Family Y Easter Egg-stravaganza programs offer springtime field-trip opportunities for groups and a special evening event for families, at the Family Y's camp at Thurmond Lake.
The Easter Egg-stravaganza Field Trips program is open to children pre-K through fifth grade. Groups may schedule trips for March 31-April 4 and April 14-18, at 10 or 11:15 a.m. each day. The trip includes arts and crafts, an Easter story, an Easter egg hunt and an environmental education activity involving live baby chicks.
Lunch is included. The cost is $5 per person. Teachers are admitted free.
Families can drop in on the Easter Egg-stravaganza Family Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Camp Lakeside. Activities will include a hayride, an Easter egg hunt, an educational activity with baby chicks, a hot dog dinner and marshmallow roast. The coast is $5 per person.

The Traveling Toilet was such a success that the City of Harlem's Relay for Life is adding a second toilet. Anyone can pay $10 to have the toilet sent to someone. The Columbia County Planning and Development office is encouraging residents to ensure that their homes have their street address numbers plainly visible from the street so that emergency personnel can find the correct address.
House numbers should be at least 3 inches tall, mounted on a mailbox, be visible from both directions of the road and should not be hidden by weeds or flowers.
