Party planners for Evans High School Band Director Richard Brasco's retirement party are sending an all-call, trying to find former band alumni to join in the celebration of Brasco's 35 years of service.
The party will be from 2 to 5 p.m. March 30 at the First Baptist Church gymnasium on Walton Way.
"A group of band boosters past and present are putting this together out of respect and admiration for him and to wish him all the best. He's a great guy," said Lorraine Deal, who has had two children in band.
When Brasco came to Evans High in 1983, there were 21 students in the program. Twenty years later, the Knights' band is about 250 strong. His band has built a worldwide reputation, playing such venues as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The Lord Mayor's Parade in London, England.

Brasco's retirement party will be a reception with light refreshments and music by the Evans High School Band. The planners also are trying to get band members, band alumni and well-wishers to send in their memories or good wishes for a scrapbook they are making and will present to him.
Entries can be sent to Carol Roberts, 234 Cavalier Court, Martinez, GA 30907. Planners also are asking those who plan to attend to respond by Saturday. Call Deal, who will be keeping count of those attending to ensure proper food preparation, at 869-0334.
