Spaghetti dinner

The Harlem Relay for Life team, Circle of Friends, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Harlem Masonic Lodge. Tickets are $5 each.

Emergency funds

Columbia County was chosen to receive $8,399 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

Public or private voluntary organizations interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact Shiron Thomas at Golden Harvest Food Bank at 3310 Commerce Drive, Augusta, GA 30909, at 800-766-7690 or fax to 261-1144.

The application deadline is Thursday.

A Day in the Country

Canterbury Trails Equestrian Center and Riding Stables, in collaboration with the Columbia County Advocates for Special Education, will play host to A Day in the Country from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the facility, 5581 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown.

Scrabble Night

Gibbs Library will play host to Scrabble Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at 326 North Belair Road. There will be all levels of play for adults and young adults.

War, Terrorism and Your Investments

Edward Jones will hold a free one-hour program, part of itsFace to Face investor education series, at 11:30 a.m., 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Edward Jones office at 4534-1 Washington Road, Evans. Guest speaker retired Army Gen. Barry McCaffrey will discuss how the possible war and terrorism will affect investments.

Annual garden festival

Sacred Heart Cultural Center will hold its 11th annual Sacred Heart Garden Festival March 20-23.

Activities will include garden exhibits, floral design displays, garden and floral lectures and vendors in the Garden Market Place. Activities will kick off March 20 at the Morris Museum of Art with a slide tour of the State Botanical Gardens, followed by an evening garden party at Sacred Heart.
