Family Y hockey
Registration for the Family Y's new Hockey School and In-line Hockey League programs is available at the Marshall Branch, 4534 Washington Road in Evans through Wednesday. The programs will be Saturdays from March 8 through May 10 at West Acres Baptist Church in Evans.
The In-line Hockey League is open to boys and girls, ages 7-12. League games are 10 a.m. to noon. Fees are $44 for members, $49 for bronze members and $56 for nonmembers.
Hockey School is open to boys and girls ages 4-6. Games are played from 9 to 10 a.m. Fees are $39 for members, $44 for bronze members and $51 for nonmembers.

Shorter College Chorale
The Shorter College Chorale and Dr. Ed Schrader, college president, will perform at Kiokee Baptist Church, 2520 Ray Owens Road, Appling, on Saturday. The Beautification Club of Gospel Water Branch Baptist will celebrate its anniversary at 10:45 a.m. March 23.

The Columbia County Extension Service will hold its monthly Gardening at Lunch seminar from 12:10 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium of the government complex.
The topic will be Weed Control in Lawns and Ornamentals, presented by Charles Phillips, Columbia County extension agent.
