The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's office.
Public Indecency in Wal-Mart
A man was recently arrested for public indecency in Wal-Mart after being observed following female shoppers on security camera.
Willie Frank James Jr., loss prevention for the Wal-Mart at 260 Bobby Jones Expressway, Martinez, observed a suspect later confirmed as Ronald Fountain, 44, of the 2100 block of Brown Road, Hephzibah, following female shoppers on the store's security camera system, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. When the shoppers would stop, the suspect would kneel down where he could not be seen, grab his penis through a hole in his left pant leg and begin to masturbate, the report stated.

The suspect was taken into custody by James and a sheriff's office deputy for public indecency.
Jones Creek vandalized again
The fairway and other grounds of Jones Creek Golf Club was recently vandalized with an all-terrain vehicle.
Gregg David Hemann, 41, club manager, noticed two white males on an unknown make white four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle doing donuts on and destroying the No. 11 fairway, stated the Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. The two fled when Hemann approached them. The damage was estimated at $750.
Tailgate thieves hit two vehicles
Two truck-owners recently reported the theft of the truck's tailgate.
Cathy Eileen Weilant, 44, office manager of Martinez Cabinets and Millworks, inc., reported the tailgate missing from a 1991 Nissan king-cab, one of the company's fleet vehicles, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. Other than the $200 tailgate, the truck did not appear to have been entered or anything missing.
Another tailgate was stolen from a 2000 Ford F-250 on the lot of Culpepper Motor Company, 6400 block of Nature's Way, Harlem. The theft was reported by owner, Robert William Culpepper.
Shoplifter left evidence in restroom
A shoplifter was not only caught at the Martinez Kroger, but while attempting to get rid of it, she left evidence in the ladies restroom.
Lauren Bunting, 20, of the 100 block of Evergreen Drive, Augusta, was observed by a store clerk taking lip gloss and hair color into the ladies restroom of the store at 4515 Columbia Road, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. She took both out of the original packaging, some of which she tried to flush down the toilet and some she tried to conceal in her purse. The shoplifter opened the hair color and poured it into an empty prescription pill bottle in her purse, the report stated.
Another clerk recovered the packing from the restroom and the shoplifter was detained by store employees and taken into custody by sheriff's office deputies, the report stated.
