Adoption Day

Columbia County Animal Care and Control - with the Columbia County Animal Control Advisory Board and the Columbia County Humane Society - will hold special adoption days Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

All pets will be available for a discounted adoption fee of $10. Only one pet per family will be allowed. For more information, call 541-4077.

Time Out

First Baptist Church of Evans, Washington at Belair roads, will hold Time Out, a monthly inspiration and lunch, at 11:50 a.m. Thursday. The fee is $5. Reservations must be made by noon Feb. 19. For more information or to make reservations, call 863-1128 or e-mail fbcevans@mindspring.com.

Greyhound adoption

GreytHound Love Greyhound Adoption will hold a meet and greet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at SuperPetz on Bobby Jones Expressway in Augusta. Several retired racing greyhounds will be on hand along with applications for adoption. For more information, call 796-1708.

Free senior legal help

Georgia Legal Services Program staff will be in Columbia County to meet with senior citizens wanting free legal help. People ages 60 and older who have civil legal issues may qualify for help. A staff person from GLSP will be in Columbia County to meet with seniors who want free legal help from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at the Bessie Thomas Senior Center, 103 West Robinson St. in Grovetown. Family Y Hockey

Registration for the Family Y's new Hockey School and In-line Hockey League programs is available at the Marshall Branch, 4534 Washington Road in Evans, from Feb. 22 to March 5. The programs are held Saturdays, March 8 through May 10, at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road in Evans.

The In-line Hockey League is open to boys and girls ages 7-12. League games are from 10 a.m. to noon. T-shirts are provided. Fees are $44 for members, $49 for bronze members and $56 for nonmembers. Hockey School is open to boys and girls ages 4-6. Games are played from 9 to 10 a.m. T-shirts are provided. Fees are $39 for members, $44 for bronze members and $51 for nonmembers. Children's Chorale holding auditions

Auditions for the Augusta Children's Chorale will be on three spring Saturdays: Feb. 22, March 1 and May 3. Training and performance choirs for children from third to eighth grade offer in-depth vocal choral training with local, national and international performance opportunities.
