Remembering Columbia

Posted: Sunday, February 16, 2003

First-grade students from Stevens Creek Elementary School drew pictures and wrote messages to give to families of the crew members of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Their teachers bound the drawings in notebooks that were sent to the families, along with the giant card that Columbia County residents signed and other items from local Girl Scouts.

In the twinkle of an eye

across the morning sky

men and women fly

One wanted trees

some went for adventure

but all went where few would venture

As we sit and say our prayers

our hearts give out all our cares

it seems life is so unfair

In the twinkle of an eye

across the morning sky

men and women fly
