Champion cheerleaders
The Haydens Allstar Twister Cheerleaders put on quite a show at the Cheersport National Competition recently in Atlanta. The event included 15,000 participants from as far away as London.
The Haydens Junior Black squad placed second among 10 teams in its division, and the Haydens Silver Novice squad placed first in its division to earn a national championship.
Evans fast-pitch
The Evans High School Fastpitch Boosters Club is sponsoring a fund-raiser/mixer Feb. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Evans High School commons area. Fast-pitch softball players, coaches and parents are invited. Two live bands will perform - Evans' own A Dying Prayer, and, for the parents, The Velletones. There will be a $3 donation at the door.

Greenbrier fund-raiser
The Greenbrier High School Athletic Boosters will hold a silent auction Saturday as a fund-raiser for the school's baseball program. The booster club is seeking sponsors that are willing to donate items to benefit the auction. Money raised will be used to purchase equipment. Greenbrier's baseball team and band will sponsor the silent auction and spaghetti supper. The supper is from 4 to 8 p.m., and the cost is $4 for adults and $3 for children. The silent auction will be from 6 to 8 p.m. VISA, Mastercard and American Express are accepted at the auction. For more information, call Greenbrier High School at 650-6040.
Wild Thangs softball

Georgia Rockers softball

Rowing season
The Augusta Junior Rowing Association's spring season begins Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. at the Boathouse. Prospective rowers will be provided and introduction to the sport and an opportunity to determine if rowing is an activity they wish to pursue. Enrollment is open to all high school students.
