Book sale at Gibbs scheduled

The Friends of the Columbia County Libraries is holding a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Gibbs Memorial Library, 326 North Belair Road.

Wesley offering health fair

Wesley United Methodist Church is holding a health fair from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 1 at the church located at 925 North Belair Road. The outreach ministry to provide health care information to start the year off as healthy as possible.

Exchange Club

The Exchange Club of Columbia County has moved its meeting location from Jones Creek Clubhouse to Westlake Country Club. Meetings are from 8 to 9 a.m. every Thursday. For additional assistance or membership information, call 855-7336.

Harlem church offering storytelling workshop

The Harlem United Methodist Church is holding The Ins and Outs of Storytelling, a workshop on the art of Biblical storytelling by professional storyteller Tracy Radosevic. It will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 1, at the church at 115 Milledgeville Highway, Harlem.

At 6:30 p.m., Radosevic will perform a storytelling concert.

Day school

Columbia County Christian Academy has spaces available for pre-K through sixth grade. Classroom size is small and A Beka Curriculum is taught. Registration for fall classes will begin in February.

Republicans meet

The Columbia County Republican Party will convene precinct meetings Saturday, Feb. 8, starting at 10 a.m. at the Evans Government Complex Auditorium. Registration opens at 9 a.m. The GOP county convention will be March 8 at 10 a.m.

The Columbia County Democratic Party will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. at the new Juvenile Court Conference Room in the Columbia County Justice Center in Evans.

Grant workshops

JLJ Resources, a local nonprofit group, will present a beginner-level grant-writing workshop Friday and anintermediate-level workshop Saturday, Feb. 8. The cost for the beginner workshop is $50 and the intermediate class costs $100. An Augusta Technical College course manual, snacks and a certificate are provided. Pre-registration is required.
