The old Shoney's Restaurant on Bobby Jones Expressway will become a family pizza joint just in time for Masters Week.

Stevi B's Pizza has taken over the building to be turned into the 10th location of the pizza franchise, said co-founder Bob Stoll. Other locations are in Woodstock, Columbus, Duluth, Hiram, Warner Robins, Covington and Fayetteville, Ga.; Montgomery, Ala.; and Greenville, S.C.

Stoll and his brother, Richard, opened the first Stevi B's in Fayetteville, Ga., in 1996. The restaurants provide a casual arcade-themed, smoke- and alcohol-free dining atmosphere, plus a 30-foot all-you-can-eat pizza buffet for $4.29.

The menu includes traditional pizza, signature gourmet pizza including Taco Delicioso Grande, Smokin' Stevi BBQ and Tomato Alfredo Fantistico, and dessert pizzas such as Blueberry Cheesecake Divine, Peaches and Cream Passion and Devilish German Chocolate.

The Stoll brothers have been scouting Augusta locations for more than a year.

"(Augusta) is just a great community with a hometown feel and we prefer to go in smaller towns," Stoll said.

The Stolls hope to have the 220-seat restaurant open in the first week of April - just in time for Masters Week. It will be in Bobby Jones Plaza at the corner of Bobby Jones Expressway and Rose Lane in front of Babies R Us.

The restaurant owners also founded the Red Bike Foundation, which helps provide bicycles for needy families.
