More volunteers needed in effort to keep roadsides free of litter

Appreciation and thanks must go to both the county juvenile services program personnel and to the Adopt-a-Highway volunteers for the start they are making on keeping the roads free of litter this year.

There was a fair accumulation during the holidays, so their burden is above normal.

I ask all citizens to be especially vigilant in avoiding littering. Those who would like to volunteer services - especially in the Grovetown area - should contact Metro Augusta Clean and Beautiful at 261-4390 as soon as possible.
