Groups receive Sam's grants

Local Sam's Wholesale associates, represented by Sam's business manager Natalie Melton, presented Martinez Fire Department Chief Doug Cooper with a $600 grant last Wednesday morning in the Sam's break room. The donation was made possible by Sam's and Wal-Mart associates as part of the company's Bonus Grant program. Also accepting grants was Thomas Langford, of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit for $600; Raynette Majer, of the CSRA Humane Society for $500; and Dan Hillman of the Child Enrichment Inc. Shelter and Child Advocacy Center for $1,000.
