Attacks on flag are aimed at 'Southern Cross'

Regarding his role as co-designer of the Confederate battle flag, which is incorporated into the real Georgia state flag, Congressman William Porcher Miles of South Carolina wrote the following statement to Samuel Barrett of Georgia in the Summer of 1861: The flag should be a token of humble acknowledgement of God and be a public testimony to the world that our trust is in the Lord our God.

Miles was clearly making reference to battle flag's Saint Andrews Cross. Furthermore, because this particular view of the flags design was so widely held and respected throughout Dixie, Southerners began to refer to it as their Southern Cross.

This understanding of the flag, plus the fact that brave Southern men waved it in battle against an invading tyrannical empire, are the main reasons for todays attacks against it. If you doubt what Im saying, remember Christ has been barred from all Christmas decorations on public property.

First to go was prayer in the public school, then it was the Nativity scene and the cross of Christ. Now targeted is the cross of Andrew His apostle, Andrew who deemed himself unworthy of being crucified in the same manner as was his Savior.

But guess what? No matter how bad the liberal media commentators and cowardly politicians cant stand it, Sonny Perdue was elected Governor of Georgia only because real Georgians want their real Georgia flag returned. Sonny knows it; Roy knows it - and so does everyone else.
