Omission from program wasn't just oversight

My husband and I, along with our two sons, attended the Harlem Middle School Athletic Banquet on Dec. 16. During the football presentations, five hardworking, dedicated boys were left out of the ceremony. These five boys did not receive their letters along with the rest of the football team.

What a hurtful thing to do to these boys who were looking forward to receiving their letter for all of their dedication and hard work! Did these boys forget to come to practice? Did these boys forget to play their hearts out for their school and coach? No - yet they were forgotten at the banquet!

This is unacceptable and more than an oversight. Teachers and coaches teach our children to be responsible for themselves, and check their work before turning it in. Who checked theirs?
